The scent of concrete still brings back memories for me. My Dad ran a small concrete company for over 30 years, and I grew up hauling forms, tying rebar, and pouring pads before I ever typed an email.  I helped put myself through college working construction, and even though I’ve spent the last couple decades in white-collar roles, I still see myself as a blue-collar guy doing white-collar work.

That background is what drives me. I’ve got a deep respect for the people in the field and the folks in the back office trying to make sure everyone gets paid right. These are the people building America — and the systems that are supposed to support them have failed for too long.

I’ve spent 25+ years building and scaling HR and payroll solutions, especially for the trades. But one pain point always stuck out: certified payroll, prevailing wage, and union reporting. Nobody ever made it easy, transparent, or connected to the systems contractors already use. That’s the problem I am obsessed with — making this messy process easier, faster, and more connected so contractors can focus on building, not battling paperwork.

Who founded WagePath?

Coray Grove is the Founder & CEO of WagePath.

Coray founded WagePath with a singular focus: bring technology to market that contractors can actually rely on.

After 30 years watching the trades navigate certified payroll with spreadsheets and workarounds, he built the infrastructure layer the industry was missing — one that works alongside, rather than replaces, the payroll and time systems contractors already use.

Prior to WagePath, Coray co-founded IPS Payroll, scaling it from zero to $12M+ in ARR. IPS later merged with Inova Payroll, where Coray served as CRO, growing the business to $50M+ before its acquisition by UKG in 2025.

Today, Coray leads WagePath's mission to modernize one of the most overlooked areas of payroll technology.
